Lorena Ballesteros Ferraz is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratoire de Physique Théorique et Modélisation in Paris, France.

She participated in the writing of the editorial on physics and inclusion, published in the EPS calendar 2024.

Interview of Riccardo Muolo: We need science to reflect the composition of society

Riccardo Muolo is a postdoctoral researcher in Tokyo, Japan. He is involved in outreach and works at improving diversity in physics research.

With Lorena Ballesteros Ferraz and Sébastien Mouchet, he wrote an opinion letter in EPN about the "Matilda Effect".

EPS Honorary Members & EPS Fellows

EPS members are invited to nominate candidates for EPS fellows and EPS honorary members.

These distinctions will be conferred at Council 2025.

The deadline for nominations is 31st January 2025.

The EPS Plasma Physics Division asks you to consider nominating a suitable person or persons for its prizes:

- 2025 Alfvén Prize
- 2025 Innovation Prize
- 2025 PhD Research Award
- 2025 EPS-PPCF Sylvie-Jaquemot Early Career Prize

which will be presented at the next annual conference, to be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in 2025.

2024 IOP Philips Award to David Sands

David Sands, former chair of the EPS Physics Education Division, received the 2024 IOP Philips Award. Congratulations!

2024 Ernest Rutherford Medal to Alison Bruce

Alison Bruce, former chair of the EPS Nuclear Physics Division, received the 2024 E. Rutherford Medal from the IOP. Congratulations!

EPS AMOPD Young Scientist Prize 2025

Nominations are being sought for the Young Scientist Prize in Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics which will be awarded by the AMOPD Division of the EPS for the fourth time in 2025.

The deadline for nominations is 15th November 2024.
