An interview with Gloria Platero

Gloria Platero, research professor at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), was awarded the 2023 EPS Emmy Noether Distinction “in recognition of her remarkable contributions to the theoretical understanding of out-of-equilibrium (Floquet) systems and their impactful application to quantum materials, for her excellent mentorship of young researchers and for tirelessly fostering female talent in physics.”

EPS Energy Conference

Registrations are still open for the EPS Conference: The Contribution of Physics to Energy  Production, Storage and Distribution, which will take place 13th-14th April 2026 at the Palais des Académies in Brussels.

This conference will bring together experts from academia, industry and policy to explore how advances in physics contribute to the future of energy systems, including topics such as renewable energy, energy storage, nuclear energy and electricity grids.

Participation is free, but registration is required.

Registration deadline: 3rd April 2026.

EPN 57-1

EPN 57-1 is devoted to the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics, celebrating the scientific milestones that have transformed our understanding of quantum phenomena and propelled technology into a new era.
