The Mansion of Misa Anastasijevic named as an EPS Historic Site

As a part of the celebration of its 215th anniversary, the University of Belgrade placed a commemorative plaque on the Mansion of Misa Anastasijevic, which has been named as a “Historic Site” by the EPS.

Anne L'Huillier laureate of EPS awards

The European Physical Society is proud of its awards and distinctions given to Anne L'Huillier:

- laureate of the EPS Emmy Noether Distinction in 2014

- winner of the 2019 EPS Quantum Electronics Prizes "Fundamental Aspects"

- appeared in the "calendar of inspiring physicists" in 2020

Ferenc Krausz laureate of an EPS award

The European Physical Society is proud of its award given to Ferenc Krausz:

- laureate of the Vladilen Letokhov Medal in 2019

jointly presented by the European Physical Society and the Russian Academy of Sciences.

EPS Forum 2024: Registration is open!

The registration for the EPS Forum is now open.

Nobel Prize laureates, including Anne L'Huillier, will give talks in a special session. 

Students are especially encouraged to participate in this event, and will have the opportunity to encounter physics-based companies and to learn about the most recent developments in physics.

 

Launch of the IDSSD 2024-2033

On 25th August 2023, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed an International Decade of Sciences for Sustainable Development 2024 - 2033 (IDSSD).

The Swiss Plasma Center of the EPFL celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Tokamak à Configuration Variable (TCV) in September.

Successful experiment with FAIR detector

Researchers of the GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung and the Technical University in Darmstadt, together with an international team, succeeded in producing and detecting the long-sought oxygen atomic nucleus 28O for the first time.

Gertrud Zwicknagl has been named APS Fellow 2023

Gertrud Zwicknagl, from Technische Universität Braunschweig, Germany, and former member of the EPS Executive Committee, has been named as an Fellow of the American Physical Society. Warmest congratulations!

Solarnet 3: Success for the conference "Sun in Science and Society"

The conference “Sun in Science and Society”, organised in the framework of the H2020 SOLARNET Project by the University of Rome Tor Vergata (Italy) and the University of Catania (Italy), was held in Venice/Mestre (Italy) at the Museo del 900 M9 from 11th – 15th September 2023.
