EPS Forum 2024: Last chance to register!

Berlin will host the second EPS Forum from 25th-26th March 2024. Don't miss the opportunity to attend conferences with presitigious speakers! The event will be opened by European Commissioner Iliana Ivanova and followed by Nobel Prize winners Anne L'Huillier and Klaus von Klinzing, as well as with Nicola Spaldin, member of the ERC Scientific Council. You can register until 3rd March.

2024 EPS Europhysics Prize

The EPS Condensed Matter Division is pleased to request nominations for the 2024 EPS Europhysics Prize.

The award winners will receive a cash award (10,000 euros to be shared amongst the winners), as well as an invitation to attend and present their work at the 31st General conference of the Condensed Matter Division of the EPS (CMD 31), to be held in Braga, Portugal, from 2nd-6th September 2024.

EPS Citizen Science Competition 2024

In an ever-evolving landscape of scientific progress, where breakthroughs continually reshape our understanding of the world, the role of civil society in the scientific endeavor is increasingly vital.

Recognising this mutual exchange, initiatives like citizen science have emerged as powerful conduits for public engagement with scientific research.

IDL2024 is on 16th May!

On the International Day of Light (IDL) on 16th May, people around the world will celebrate the central role that light plays in the lives of the citizens of the world in areas of science, culture and art, education, sustainable development, and in fields as diverse as medicine, communications and energy by creating their own events.

While taking part in a global celebration may seem intimidating, it is actually very easy to create an event.

EUROfusion share spectacular results from the JET fusion facility

On 3 October 2023, EUROfusion researchers at the Joint European Torus (JET) set a new world record for most fusion energy released in a single 'pulse': 69 megajoules in a 6-second long pulse. Fusing only 0.2 milligrams of fusion fuel, this released about the same energy as burning ten times as much fossil fuel, but without any greenhouse emissions.

Report on the 15th EINN conference

The 15th EINN conference took place in Paphos from 31st October to 4th November 2023, attracting approximately  100 participants from Europe, North America, and Asia.

EINN 2023 was a recognised conference of the European Physical Society and of  STRONG-2020 within the European Union's Horizon2020.

Events and dates

UP 2024
The 23rd International Conference on Ultrafast Phenomena will take place from 14th-19th July 2024 in Barcelona, Spain.

EUROPHOTON
The conference will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 25th-30th August 2024.

EGAS 55
The conference will take place from 16th-20th June 2024 in Granada, Spain.
