Alessandro Volta Prize 2026: Call for nominations

Nominations are now open for the Alessandro Volta Prize, a European Physical Society prize. The award, intended to promote excellence in research, will be given in recognition of outstanding work and achievements in physics.

Launch of the LEAPS-Ultrafast Postdoctoral Network website

LEAPS (League of European Accelerator-based Photon Sources) brings together Europe's leading synchrotron and free-electron laser facilities to advance photon science. 

The LEAPS-Ultrafast Network is funded by Horizon Europe's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions.

The LEAPS-Ultrafast Postdoctoral Network launched its website with an invitation to join the programme.

The conference will take place in Arcachon, France, from 21st-25th September 2026. 

Biology for Physics
The conference will take place in Barcelona, Spain, from 6th-10th September 2026.

EPS CMD-ÖPG joint meeting
The conference will take place in Graz, Austria, from 20th-25th September 2026. Early bird until 31st July. 

SPS Annual Meeting
The next SPS Annual Meeting will take place at EPFL in Lausanne from 24th-28th August 2026.

PUBLICATION

The issue is dedicated to understanding how AI is reshaping the way physics is conceived, practiced, and communicated, how it is becoming an active
partner in scientific discovery.
It will also reflect on a deeper question: is AI merely enhancing
physics, or is it changing its epistemology?
