Europe and the Future of Quantum Science

In 2025 we celebrate 100 years since the formulation of quantum physics, a scientific milestone that has shaped the modern world. In the 21st century, quantum physics will continue to develop, bringing with it new and unexpected results. Technologies based on these discoveries lead to applications which will benefit humanity.

EPS Diversity Statement

As a federation of more than 40 National Physical Societies, the European Physical Society engages in activities that strengthen ties among the physicists in Europe, in physics research, science policy and education.

EPS SNPD Prizes 2025: Call for nominations

The Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Division of the European Physical Society calls for nominations for two prizes in 2025:

- the EPS Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Prize 2025
- the EPS Statistical and Nonlinear Physics Early Career Prize 2025

EuNPC2027: Call for bids

The board of the Nuclear Physics Division (NPD) of the European Physical Society is seeking candidates to host the 2027 edition of the European Nuclear Physics Conference (EuNPC).

Every three years the European Nuclear Physics Conference brings together researchers with the aim to review and discuss the status and prospects in the field of nuclear physics and its applications.

Deadline 31st July 2025.

2026 John Stewart Bell Prize

The call for nominations for the 2026 John Stewart Bell Prize for Quantum Mechanics is open.

The Bell Prize honours advances in quantum mechanics, including quantum information theory, computation, foundations, cryptography, and control. It covers theoretical and experimental work.

Deadline 30th August 2025.

SCOAP3 for Books Program 2025

The SCOAP3 for books program aims to support the open access (OA) publishing of new  (“born-OA”) scientific monographs and textbooks that are relevant to the discipline of high energy physics.
