The 12th BPU Congress in Bucharest, July 2025
The Balkan Physical Union (BPU) is the Union of the National Physical Societies from 10 countries, all of which are also EPS members.
Founded in 1985, the Union celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, and organized its 12th General Congress in Bucharest, from 8th to 12th July.

The EPS Technology and innovation Group (EPS TIG) organised this event during the BPU12 congress held in Bucharest in July 2025.

Report on WE Heraeus School during BPU12
The first BPU – WE Heraeus School on “Frontiers in Quantum Science and Technologies” took place during the BPU12 this summer.
The aim of the school was to deepen the understanding of the quantum world and its applications in quantum technologies.
EPS 2026 - Proposals for Plenary and Invited Talks
The call for nominations for the EPS Plasma Physics Conference 2026 (EPS 2026) is now open. The deadline is 12th October.
The organisers are looking for plenary speakers, who can engage a broad audience on thought-provoking, innovative topics, and invited speakers, experts with fresh insight and deep expertise in their fields.
The conference will be held in Edinburgh (UK) from 29th June to 3rd July 2026.
