GSI/FAIR: Federal Ministry of Research grants millions for “fusion talent”Starting 1st June, Dr. Jonas Ohland, laser physicist at GSI/FAIR, will lead the young investigator group ALADIN (Adaptive Laser Architecture Development and INtegration). The project lays the foundation for the realization of stable, efficient lasers for inertial confinement fusion. GSI is an EPS Associate Member. |
Wendelstein 7-X sets new performance records in fusion researchOn 22nd May, the latest experimental campaign concluded at the world’s most powerful nuclear fusion device of the stellarator type. Through collaboration between researchers from Europe and the USA, Wendelstein 7-X achieved a world record in a key parameter of fusion physics: the triple product. The Max-Planck-Gesellschaft IPP is an EPS Associate Member. |

Every three years the European Nuclear Physics Conference brings together researchers with the aim to review and discuss the status and prospects in the field of nuclear physics and its applications. 4th International Symposium on the History of Particle PhysicsThe symposium will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 10th-13th November 2025. It will be organised at CERN and cover the history of particle physics in the 1980s and the 1990s. This symposium is now brought to Europe to follow previous editions which took place in the USA (SLAC and Fermilab) and covered earlier periods in the history of particle physics. |
