The Contribution of Physics to Energy Production, Storage & Distribution

This conference explores how advances in physics are shaping the future of energy systems. Organised by the EPS, it brings together experts from academia, industry, and public policy to examine the scientific, technological, and societal dimensions of the energy transition.

Through keynote lectures and moderated panel discussions, participants will address recent scientific breakthroughs, pathways for technological deployment, and the policy frameworks required to enable a secure, efficient, and sustainable energy system.

The programme covers a broad range of topics, including wind and solar energyenergy storagecritical raw materialsnuclear energy, and other emerging technologies relevant to energy production and distribution.

Take part and register now! Deadline 30th March.

Action plan for women in research, innovation and startups: Call for evidence

The EU’s action plan for women in research, innovation and startups will address persistent gender gaps and promote diversity, equality and inclusiveness in the European Research Area (ERA).

The plan aims to make the ERA the world’s most attractive place for women to work in research, innovation and startups by 2030. Mobilising all talents, regardless of gender, will foster the EU’s sustainable competitiveness. Deadline 23rd February 2026.

EPS Council 2026 & Young Minds Leadership Meeting

This year, the EPS Council Meeting will include parallel sessions including the EPS Young Minds Leadership Meeting, offering a unique opportunity for interaction and exchange.

This joint format aims to foster dialogue between representatives of national physical societies, young physics students and early-career researchers. It gives EPS Council representatives the opportunity to meet EPS Young Minds members, and to present the activities and initiatives organised by their societies.

The events will take place from 15th to 16th May 2026 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
