Welcome to Anne Pawsey, our new EPS Secretary General!

Since the beginning of November, the European Physical Society has had two secretaries general for the first time in its history.  David Lee who will retire as Secretary General in March 2023 and Anne Pawsey who has just arrived in Mulhouse and will continue to run the society after this hand-over period.

EPS Early Career Prizes

The EPS has two Early Career prizes to be awarded each year – one each for achievements of a mainly theoretical or experimental nature.

Deadline for nominations 15th January 2023.

EPS Prizes, Awards and Distinctions

EPS Members are invited to nominate EPS Individual Members for EPS Fellows, EPS Honorary Members, the EPS Achievement Award and the EPS Gero Thomas Medal.

EPS Emmy Noether Distinction

Nominations are open for the Emmy Noether Distinctions, we seek nominations for two distinguished female scientists with a strong connection to Europe through their nationality and work. One early/mid-career  scientist and one more senior scientist will be honoured, they should be an an inspiration to future researchers.

Deadline for nomination 15th January 2023.

2nd EPS TIG Hands-on Event took place at the CERN Ideasquare

The “Technology and Innovation Group (TIG)” of EPS and the IdeaSquare innovation space at CERN hosted the “2nd EPS TIG Hands-on Event for Science, Technology and Interface” from 30th September to 2nd October at CERN, Geneva.

EPS Europhysics Prize 2023

The selection committee of the EPS Europhysics Prize is pleased to request nominations for the 2023 EPS Condensed Matter Division Europhysics Prize.

Nominations may be made before 28th February 2023.

EPS Plasma Physics Innovation Prize 2023

The call for nominations for the 2023 EPS Plasma Physics Innovation Prize has opened.

Nominations can be submitted no later than 15th February 2023

The first EPS Citizen Science Competition took place!

On 1st September 2022, the European Physical Society launched its first EPS Citizen Science Competition in the framework of the Surrounded by Science project, an EU-funded project which aims at fostering out-of-school science activities which can increase the interest in science to the general public.

EPS Young Minds and Italian Physical Society: A fruitful collaboration

Networking between learned societies is a key endeavour in physics, and bridging the gap between international and national societies is an important part of that. The EPS embraces this principle with its federative nature and by directly supporting events going along such direction.

CLEO®/Europe-EQEC 2023

The online paper submission system is open. A number of contributed postdeadline papers covering original, unpublished work on the conference topics will be accepted as oral presensations.

The deadline for the submissions is 26th January 2023, 23:59 Paris time. No further extension will be possible.

Call for mini-colloquia: Submit a proposal for a Mini-colloquium until 13th January 2023

Sigmaphys
The conference will take place in Chania, Crete-Greece, from 10th-14th July 2023.

Crossing Borders and Fostering Collaborations
The conference will be held from 31st August to 3rd September 2023 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
