The 2026 EPS Europhysics Prize is announced
The 2026 Europhysics Prize of the EPS Condensed Matter Division is awarded to
- Dr. Libor Šmejkal
- Prof. Jairo Sinova, and
- Prof. Tomas Jungwirth
"for the discovery of altermagnetism, a third elementary magnetic class that combines ferromagnetic-like and antiferromagnetic-like characteristics considered for a century as mutually exclusive, and characteristics unprecedented in either of the two conventional magnetic classes."

EGAS57 – Let’s Relive it!
The 57th EGAS Conference in Toruń is over. More that 240 scientists and exhibitors representing as many as 25 countries took part.
The event was packed with intense knowledge exchange and networking. Beyond a huge dose of science, the conference was filled with a lot of fun, smiles and a fantastic atmosphere.The event was organized by the NCU Institute of Physics, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, and the Aleksander Jabłoński Foundation.
